Webisode Clack – Children’s Hospital; Jimmy Fallon; Office & Guild updates

There’s more to TV than television. Every year — heck, every month — there are more new Internet-only shows popping up online and in podcasts, and existing shows expanding their worlds in the same way. Here are some notable things going on in the world of webisodes …

Rob Corddry’s Children’s Hospital

Funnyman Rob Coddry’s got a new web series at TheWB.com called Children’s Hospital, which I’m already a fan of after watching only one episode for one simple reason: it makes fun of the idiocy of Grey’s Anatomy, complete with voiceover and assinine apartment dancing.

It’s definitely not fit for primetime, for both its brevity and, er, maturity (or lack therof). I was surprised to see so many recognizable cast members, like Lake Bell (Surface), Erinn Hayes (Worst Week), Ken Marino (Veronica Mars; Reaper) and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace).

There are ten episodes up already. Quote from episode one: “I’d kiss you goodbye, but I don’t want to get brain cancer.”

The embedded video of the first episode is below ….

The Office: The Outburst, week three

Not as good as the last two of this series, but as a complete package, these webisodes make up a definite worthwhile watch for any fan of The Office. I wonder if there are forums out there clogged with people trying to guess who Oscar screamed at and why.

The Guild: Episodes 2 & 3

Felicia Day updated on Twitter this week that shooting for season two of The Guild had been completed. It sounds like the cast and crew went on a marathon session of shoots over the past couple of weeks. You can catch episode 2 and episode 3 on MSN’s website (since the bastards aren’t allowing embeds).

Jimmy Fallon’s video blogs

In anticipation of his upcoming late-night show, Jimmy Fallon is putting up video blogs of what’s going on behind the scenes. The first installment offers a quick look at what will become the studio for the show, plus a few seconds of an appearance of Jimmy’s house band. Check it out:

(Oh, and and here’s that “Ask Jimmy” link mentioned in the video. UPDATE: Day 2 just went up now.)
