Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – Don’t let the door hit you, Duncan

Teddy Dunn(Season 2, Episodes 9-12)

Can it be true? Is Duncan really gone? I have to admit that I did head over to IMDb in search of spoilers. Not real spoilers, but I was happy to see that Teddy Dunn is listed as appearing in “credits only” for the rest of the season. Awesome.

Were there any fans of the Duncan character? I have to assume that Rob Thomas was fond of him, but all the people I have talked to about the show seem to agree that Duncan is a huge bore.

“My Mother, the Fiend”

This was a pretty good episode. I love that at the end, it turned out that Clemmons was playing Veronica the whole time, all in a play to become principal. Aside from that, though, it marked the return of Alyson Hannigan, who is always a welcome addition to the show. I nearly “squeed” myself when she and Charisma Carpenter shared the scene. Awesome.

Veronica playing Cold Case with her mom made for an interesting episode, though I was yelling to myself when she misinterpreted the sign language from the deaf cafeteria worker. “She was a fiend.” I thought it was a little obvious that she would have been saying: “She was a friend.” Oh, well, it didn’t really ruin the recipe for me.

Meg is pregnant? Egads. I suppose I should have seen that coming, but I didn’t.

“One Angry Veronica”

I did not like this episode. First of all, it completely made a mockery of what juries actually do. That is all I will say about that. Other than that, I was not thrilled with the exit that poor Leo got from the sheriff’s office. I think that character deserved a little better than that. Maybe this won’t be the last that we see of him, but if it is, shame on the writers.

I did love the Mars family Christmas. Veronica and her dad really are precious together. I totally agree with Julia, Keith is one of the best TV dads out there. This episode also marked the return on Wallace from his soul searching trip to Chicago. Welcome back, Wallace.

“Donut Run”

Alright, I have to give props to this episode, for more than just sending Duncan to another country. This ep was really well structured and very cleverly done. I love that the episode had us thinking that Veronica had broken up with Duncan and wasn’t helping him at all with the kidnapping of his child. Ah, but Veronica is too clever for us.

Add in a great guest star appearance by Lucy Lawless, and this was a winner. That would have been enough, but we also got Ken Marino as Vinnie Van Lowe, and Lamb being played like a fiddle by Veronica. Beautiful.

“Rashard and Wallace Go to White Castle”

I knew that there was going to be at least a bit of a let down after the last episode. This was still a decent entry though. The case-of-the-week with Wallace trying to clear his name after being fingered as the fall guy for a big shot basketball player from Chicago was fine.

The real fun in this episode came in the continuation of the Logan/Weevil story line that has been so great this season. Things came to a head in this episode, as Weevil’s gang discovered that he was working with Logan even as he finally discovered who killed Felix. Unfortunately for Weevil, his friends weren’t so forgiving, and beat the tar out of him before destroying his bike. I’m really curious to see where these events are going to leave Weevil.

“Meg is pregnant? Egads. I suppose I should have seen that coming, but I didn’t.”

Aww… yes the episode where the sharks started jumping over the crashed bus. She looks amazing for someone who was the only survivor of the bus crash and that her baby was fine.

I also thought Donut Run run was also stupid, Veronica and Duncan out smarted the FBI… yeah right. Give me a break!

And you might start liking Duncan more as the rest of the season continues.

I knew you’d squee. Who wouldn’t squee? Well, people who aren’t into Joss’s shows I guess. I think I alluded to that moment in a comment to one of your previous posts.

I was thrilled when Duncan left! Found it a little too good to be true, but it really isn’t…he’s gone! I do think it was a little hard to believe that they outsmarted the FBI (and the coma baby is so soap opera territory), but it’s TV, so I can live with that if it made it possible for Duncan to leave.

One Angry Veronica is probably the worst episode of the series. The only good part of that episode was watching Logan with the tapes…poor guy.

The Logan/Weevil story saved Season 2 for me. I love those two together! The scene with Weevil, Logan & Veronica at the coffee shop was priceless. “Do either of you have any experience being a horse’s ass?” Haha!

Good riddance Duncan ! This storyline with Duncan/Veronica/Meg was too soap opera ish.
The rest of the season is far better you will see, Veronica Mars is single, got rid of his boring boyfriend she recover her edge and sassiness !! Welcome back Veronica !

I must admit I was happy when they wrote Donut off, but I loved the way they did it. However, as I was in ’12 Angry Women’ in high school, I have a soft spot for ‘1 Angry Veronica.’ I must confess that I didn’t quite buy AH as the bitter strung out sister. I liked that the WB kept it in the family, but I always preferred her character off camera. I was sad to see Leo get the boot and wish he hadn’t been used so much by V. I loved the title of ‘R & W Go to White Castle,’ and wish they could’ve channeled half of the awesomeness of the film for that ep. And, yea, I expected Meg’s pregnancy, but still sighed when it happened. Hmm, maybe some of these eps are the reason I wasn’t a fan of S2 -

The fact that Meg survives a bomb AND a 200ft plummet with baby unharmed was over the top. Having her then die randomly of a blood clot after waking up set up the jump. Having Duncan run to Mexico with the baby never to be seen again was the jump being missed.

Also if they didn’t give Charisma and Allyson a scene together the Whendon fans would of revolted.

You seems to very like Leo, i don’t know i liked him but i didn’t think he was enough important to stay. But maybe it’s not the last time you see him.
I would say that i enjoy him like that (he was ok i guess) but i doesn’t miss him when is not on screen : likable but minor character.
