The Shield Virgin Diary – Delicious feet?

The creepy dude, with his “delicious feet” comment, I’m hoping we’ve not seen the last of him. I’m not even sure creepy covers it. Guy was just plain scary.

Season One, Episode Five, “Blowback”

Will Aceveda ever stop tilting at windmills? It seems that catching the Strike Force is more important to him to anything else, including keeping the streets safe. I’m not saying that they are mutually exclusive, but all we ever see of Aceveda is working to bring down Mackey and the crew. The crew, which seems to be falling further down the rabbit hole. Shane seems to be either just plain stupid, or incredibly distracted. And Mackey, seeing the house of cards almost fall down on top of him, found comfort with an old “friend.”

Vic had to pay off two different people to get his “legal” warrant. I was getting to the point where I was wondering if he might actually be bribing a judge to get it.

Julien, exposed to the deep dark side of the job had a crisis of conscience. Going to someone like Wyms I get, but I was blown away that he immediately went to Aceveda. I know he is the good, walk-the-line guy, but cops also protect each other. Then, to go against his partner by calling in the Navigator? I mean, we know that the Strike Force is up to no good, but he doesn’t, and isn’t there something to be said about benefit of the doubt?

I wonder if that’s the last time I’ll ever find a way to justify defending the Strike Force for what they’ve done? The look that Mackey gave himself in the mirror … tough to identify. Is it, “I can’t believe how far down the slippery slope I’ve fallen?” or more along the lines of “Damn, I can’t believe how close we came to being caught?”

I was lead to believe that the Strike Force was a collection of bad-ass, street smart, tough guys. How does the roster include Shane? I won’t even get into stopping to scratch the itch, because that is stupid enough. But pulling over the wrong Navigator, when the frakking license plate was right in front of his face? What an idiot!

  • “Might as well talk to us. We’ve got four cops that saw you blow your buddy’s brains out. Do you know that that means? Means one of them could get hit by a bus and…. ” – Dutch [to one perp]
“….we’d still have three cops that could put you away for first degree murder.” – Wyms  [to another perp in the next room]
  • Hey, you have a great, charming kid, and he is autistic … What ever happened to bedside manner?

Do not worry, feet become somewhat of a recurring theme through the 7 seasons!
