Parks and Recreation – Team Twilight

This episode of Parks and Recreation spoke to me in a deep way. It perfectly displayed the fact that many adults know to be true: Twilight is hilarious and really fun to talk about. The whole idea of Twilight fandom is relatively horrifying, and this episode did a perfect job of capturing that along with the fun that can be had with the series. The movies are especially bad, and oh, so amazing in their seriousness. However, I will say that Twilight is how I realized what a good actress Anna Kendrick is — she’s legit’ great in those movies.

Anyway, Will Forte guest-starred and did what Will Forte does best: Playing the quiet creepy guy. Because, honestly, I couldn’t imagine being more creeped out than if a 40-year-old dude was seriously extolling the virtues of Twilight to me. Well, okay. I can imagine something a little creepier.

Other than the Twilight stuff, we finally got rid of April’s boyfriend, which was good. I do love how he went out though: After a nine-hour Dave Matthews Band jam session with Andy. That’s a 21-gun salute if I’ve ever seen one. There is something that’s been bothering me about April this season though: She’s coming off as really bratty.

In the previous two seasons, April has just been annoyingly aloof and above it all, but now she’s just straight-up acting like a child. If I were Andy, now is when I’d be worried about the age difference, because she’s acting like a thirteen-year-old. On the other hand, they’re still pretty cute together, so I’m still for it.

The “crackpot convention” was pretty amazing, too, and it was nice to see Ben sitting there all quietly impressed with Leslie. I love the way this relationship is evolving. Also, Adam Scott is hot.

But the best part? Beside’s Ron’s addition to the time capsule, of course. It’s hard to beat the JJ’s diner menu: “Home of the world’s best breakfast dish,’The Four Horsemeals of the Eggporkalypse.'”
