In Plain Sight Interview – Mary McCormack and Fred Weller

Have you ever met Mary Shannon? Well, I have. Let me tell you, don't make her angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry. During the conference call, I learned what’s in store for 'In Plain Sight’s' fourth season, including Mary’s pregnancy.

MARY’S PREGNANCY

An: And then the final question is, although the writers — all right I know it’s the final question. But although the writers said that they — are there — they’re write — working on your pregnancy, is it possible that you would serve as a surrogate mother as a witness? This is something that was brought up by one of the other writers for my site.

Mary McCormack: Would I serve as surrogate mother for a witness?

An: Yes.

Mary McCormack: No, no.

Fred Weller: Oh that’s — wow, that’s complicated.

Mary McCormack: No. You mean if like a witness came to me and said, “I’m going to implant you with my egg and some fellow’s sperm, and you’re going to just — like it just — will you be a gestational surrogate?”

Fred Weller: Or do you mean, would she give up the baby …

An: Yes.

Fred Weller: Would she allow a witness to adopt the baby that she’s carrying?

An: No more just serving as the surrogate mother for …

Mary McCormack: Definitely not. Mary Shannon is not really keen on — I mean I guess anyone who watches the show would — can sort of guess this and it’s not like we’re taking an unexpected stance. It’s — she’s not really into pregnancy.

So she wouldn’t — she didn’t even want to do it for herself and she definitely wouldn’t do it for someone else for sport or money.

An: No, not for money — but because she wants to help the witness …

Mary McCormack: No way. She’d be like, good luck … she’s not built that way. No. It’s definitely not — I’m not a surrogate. I’ve — I made it myself the old fashioned way.

An: So thank you very much …

Mary McCormack: Thank you.

An: … and I’m definitely looking forward to this season.

Mary McCormack: Appreciate it.

Fred Weller: Thank you.

Mary McCormack: Thank you.
