Parks and Recreation – The return of Beslie

Yeah. Beslie. I'm going to make it happen. I'm so excited about the potential return of Ben and Leslie's relationship, that I'm making up stupid couple names for them.

- Season 4, Episode 8 - "Smallest Park"

Finally. Finally. I love Parks and Recreation, and I understand why they had to keep Ben and Leslie apart for a while. I get it. However, the fact remains that it’s Adam Scott. Adam Scott cannot run around free, single, taking sad baths and making April late for things. He needs to be loved; if not by me. then by Leslie Knope. Because, seriously. I cannot overstate the amazing chemistry that Amy Poehler and Adam Scott have together. Every scene that they share is sweet and funny, and makes me want to eat ice cream and listen to Adele.

My only requirement is that when Leslie says that they’re going to do this thing for real, that she means it. No more jerking us around! I need the rest of this season to be schmoopy looks and weird presidential role-playing. Although, I do like when things go badly between them, because it allows Anne to open up her beautiful pie-hole and help out.

Some of my favorite quotes from this episode:

“Horizons are dumb. Never broaden your horizons.” – April

“Out of all of my co-workers, he is one of a small number whom I do not actively root against. There I go getting all sappy.” – Ron

“Cool Jerry. I’d take your advice if I wanted to be a dead-eyed government drone with no ambition.” – Tom

Leslie: “No Anne, please. I beg of you. Will you just shut your beautiful pie-hole? Just sit there, let me stare at you while you silently support me on this game plan.”

Anne: “Leslie–”

Leslie: “Shh, Anne! Your quiet support means the world to me, as well as your tacit endorsement of all my behaviors.”

“Today I’m a Beverly Hills Plastic surgeon and the Parks Department is a wrinkly old housewife in her early thirties. I’m about to work a miracle.” – Tom

“Hello Ma’am, who is just as equal as men. I would like one ticket for, uh… women.” – Andy
