The Voice – Where, sometimes, the eliminations make sense

Mark my words: It’s monkeys.

Yep … monkeys.

Monkeys are behind the results on The Voice. (It has to be. They sit in a secluded room with monitors on, watch the contestants perform for whatever reason, then depress buttons at random on little metal boxes resulting in saves which make no sense whatsoever.)

I’m right. Right? Am I right or what? I think I’m right …

*crickets are the only thing preventing silence in the air*

Hokay … so maybe it’s not monkeys. (Maybe it’s just someone rolling dice with the contestants’ names on the faces of each die.) Whatever it is, we do get some funky voting results come elimination time on the show. Seriously: Where else do you get such unpredictable results on a reality show?

Was it a shock Chris Mann was saved from Christina’s team? No. Not in the least. (And yes … I still maintain he is not The Voice.) After accidentally choosing two Team Christina members (wishful thinking) to get the boot last post (Note: “eliminationed” … too funny), I got one of my picks correct. No surprise there.

But it was a bit of a jolt to discover Jermaine Paul of Blake’s team get the nod … with additional jaw-dropping that that nod came at the expense of Erin Willett. (And yes … I still maintain she is a contender for the finale.)

Let’s see what the monkeys do next week with Adam and Cee Lo …

Possibly Sarcastic Notes:

• I was thrilled — thrilled, I tell you — to the souls of my feet with The Wanted’s new single performance of “Chasing the Sun.”
• I was thrilled — thrilled, I tell you — to the souls of my feet with the sneak peek clip of Justin Beiber’s “Boyfriend.” Mark my words: The highlight of The Voice finale is going to be his performance of that song. In a showdown between The Beebster and Chris Mann, I believe it would be a toss-up who would win The Voice if that were the finale to result. (No … that was not sarcastic.)
• Bad time for RaeLynn to put a poor performance out there. Equally so for Erin Willett and her sub-standard “Proud Mary” … but was there any doubt Erin would win out over the blond, country-flavored spitfire?
