Johnny Depp, all around good guy

I was just wondering: When it comes to Johnny Depp, where's the CliqueClack love?

You know … sometimes I just don’t “get” my colleagues wandering the colorfully-pasteled, Spring-themed halls of the CliqueClack offices. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s because I’m not “people.” That … and the fact I have a very skewed sense of interests. (But you know what? That’s okay. I have big shoulders. I can take it.)

However … I thought this item about Johnny Depp would surely generate at least an inkling of round table response perfect for inclusion in a zippy little post about the ever-youthful Mr. Depp. (If nothing else, I reasoned, some of the captioned photos in the article were a hoot worthy of mention. At least to me.) And especially with the timeliness of the up and coming Tim Burton adaptation of the Depp-featured Dark Shadows generating controversy and more. I mean … who doesn’t like the two-time sexiest man alive?

But nary a word was heard floating through the air at CliqueClack. So … where was the love?

Where’s the love from Carla or Katie or An about this swoony Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award winner?  Where’s the appreciation from Jeremy or Ivey or even Chuck concerning his Ed Wood or Raoul Duke or Sweeney Todd roles? Nothing, nada, nil about the fact he’s a Guinness Book of World Records holder as highest paid actor? Really?

I mean … come on! Dramatis persona! Musician! Sex symbol! Restaurateur! Award winner! Winemaker! Personality! Producer! Director! Writer! Documentarian! Voice over dude! Collaborator! Hollywood Walk Of Fame star-boaster nestled twixt Sonny & Cher and The Hoff! Woot!

I ask again: Where’s the love … ??!?

Well … I’m showin’ him some man-love! I dig the dude! I might not like all his film roles, everything he says or his tattoos, but I’d be lying if I denied wanting to walk in his shoes for 24 hours or so.

Oh … wait … wait. I know. I know the reason I didn’t get any feedback when I mentioned the article to the gang.

Manson. It was the controversial Marilyn Manson who turned everyone off to any sort of round table back and forth … wasn’t it?

*sigh*

Only goes to show you: You can’t please everyone all the time.

“Look … I understand too little too late.
I realize there are things you say and do you can never take back.
But what would you be if you didn’t even try? You have to try.
So after a lot of thought, I’d like to reconsider:
Please … if it’s not too late … make it a … cheeseburger …”

I thought it was a rhetorical question!

But I love Depp! Even if he did sleepwalk through the last Pirates movie, and I’m not thrilled, but reserving judgment on Dark Shadows. I do love the three movies you posted at the bottom … and Ed Wood will finally meet the Blu laser of high definition in the fall! So even if DS does stink up the place, at least we’ll have that to enjoy again. Of course, he’s looking to take on Carl Kolchak in The Night Stalker next …

Hey, I used to love Depp (as I pointed out), but he’s starting to take the paycheck over the artistic integrity he fought so hard for post-21 Jumpstreet.

And, if he’s doing for the friendship, sometimes if your friend says he wants to drunk-dial his ex or bungee-jump using luggage chords (or, you know, remake beloved classics and NOT remake them well), sometimes you just have to say … ‘dude, let’s take a pause’ …

Keep this on the DL. Katie hates the Depp. She’s always been team Ninja. Donatello, The Surf Ninjas, Michael “The American Ninja” Dudikoff all among her favorites. Don’t tell her I let you guys in on this.

. . . . .

Mike B:

Mum’s the word.

And look! Even Johnny’s shushing in the photo above, promising to keep quiet about the information you’ve provided.

He may be shushing, but he’s got that Pirate smirk going. If the Legend of Zelda: WindWaker has taught me anything, it’s to never trust a pirate. He’s going to tell her, It’s all in that smirk. Then watch, 8:15 AM a comment right here about how much she hates me.

I call foul! Mike B was slandering me while I was peacefully asleep in my bed! How can I possibly defend myself while I’m snoozing!

Also, my lack of response was indeed because I don’t really care about Marilyn Manson.

. . . . . .

It just occurred to me: No wonder Ivey didn’t respond …

… he prefers Manson over Depp.

I’m soooooooooooo blind sometimes …

Only thing I know or care about Manson is that Rachel Evan Wood dated him for a while. So he can’t be all bad.

Depp was the best he’s ever been in Ed Wood and has never been better.
