Hollywood will do anything to pad its pockets. Take a look at the photo above: The film capitol of the world is so brazen it’ll resort to stealing an American institution for an original idea. I bet it didn’t even have the decency to look up Betty Crocker in the phone book and let “her” know it was snagging the idea right off the front of her box.
So, with the help of my good friend Clark Brooks (who has not only contributed to CliqueClack previously, but is the owner of the photo above), we got to thinking. Let’s follow his lead and riff on his take about film and Hollywood, just as he did in the title of this post. So Chuck and Keith and I took a stab at captioning the featured picture:
Chuck: “Another summer blockbuster that’s all filler and no plot.”
Keith: “From director John Irvin comes the much anticipated follow-up to the 1987 blockbuster film about one of the bloodiest battles in the Vietnam War. Following the heroic actions of KP Sergeant Ronald “Sloppy” Barnes, as he struggles through the worst hardships the war has ever seen, to serve food to over 1,800 men in the Battle of Hamburger Hill: ‘Hamburger Helper’.”
Michael: “Is there a Blu-ray release of this out yet?”
Hey … why not let Hollywood know you’re not going to take any of their guff by contributing your own caption in the comments section below. It’ll be good for the body, good for the soul.
After all, Hollywood can make movies like “Hamburger Helper” … but that doesn’t mean we have to subscribe to them … unless of course they come with extra features, director’s commentary and a killer blooper reel …
