The Week in Clack – Frakkin’ Clack; finales; Christmas again!

Clever, insolent, creative, irreverent; even a little twisted. I speak of the writers here at CliqueClack, and the unique posts they churn out day after day. How could we let seven days go by without highlighting some of the week’s gems?

Guest Clack

We had three Guest Clacks this week … looks like our staff writers aren’t the only ones with strong opinions and insightful observations.

• In The Office – Why so serious?, Wally wonders why a comedy show has such a dark side.
• Kelly, a second time around Guest Clacker, writes about how former stars of smart teen shows spice up dumb adult ones, like Private Practice.
• The Big Four networks fade out, says Guest-Clacker Carissa, referring to their lack of commitment to their one-hour dramas.

Finales Galore

We say goodbye to some shows for a while; some until next season, others until January or February. What are we going to do with this TV dry spell? I’m lining up my DVDs as I write ….

• Survivor Gabon‘s season finale marked the end of one of the better Survivor seasons in a while, and Jason wrote all about it.
  
• Dexter‘s season finale, reviewed by Keith, though a finale of a different sort for this serial killer, was well done with the quality writing we’ve grown to expect from Dexter.
  
• Life‘s finale, at least until February, let us with a cliffhanger, and Kona theorizes about who shot Charlie Crews in her post.
• Testees ended its run of bizarre antics and potty humor, and Scott sings its praises with his season one review of Testees.

And More With the Christmas …

• If you’ve never experienced the thorough reporting and painstaking research that goes into one of Rich’s CliqueClack Kids posts, you’ve got to hop over to  CliqueClack Kids (Christmas) A Charlie Brown Christmas. You won’t be sorry!
  
• So Rich’s post made me think about how much I hate A Charlie Brown Christmas … and boy, did I stir up some trouble over in the comments!
• Bill didn’t have to keep his word at writing a glowing review of A Miserly Christmas … instead, you can find his review of the sure-to-not-become-a-classic Christmas special if you missed it.
• A visit from Kevin Reilly (part one, and here’s part two)  is our answer to “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” here at CliqueClack: a fun, cumulative poem written by most of our staff writers, mocking the industry, basically. It’s good fun! Follow along each day until Christmas, when our epic tale will come to an end.
