Saturday Night Live – Tina Fey/Justin Bieber

Usually I don't pay much attention to the photos of the guest that pop up after commercial breaks, but this week's ... let's just say, if you're hot for Tina Fey, you have a few new wallpaper photos to choose from.

- Season 35, Episode 18 - "Tina Fey/Justin Bieber"

Cold Open: Obama on the Census — I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve been ready for the talk about turning in our census forms to end for a long time now. It was funny to see SNL take on the subject, but the mere mention of “census” no makes me go into twitchy fits.

Monologue: Tina Fey — Best part of this was Steve Martin‘s surprise visit. Other than that, not much to comment on, is there?

Duncan Hines Brownie Husband — Usually these commercials are very much hit or miss, and I thought this one was going for the latter until the part with the gooey, liquid center came up. Tina macking into that thing was both disturbing and hilarious … and somewhat erotic.

The Masters — I’m sure happy SNL targeted the Tiger commercial for Nike; it was just ripe for their treatment. One thing I come away from this sketch wondering is this: Besides in golf, what in the hell is a “dog leg?”

Sarah Palin Network — A great return of Fey’s Palin impression. I especially liked that her new network would feature “30 Main Street,” starring Sarah Palin as “Lez Lemons.”

Teacher’s Fantasy — You know me, I’m always writing up song lyrics when it comes to the shows I’m writing up here. Well, there were a few in this sketch — and they were funny — but I’ll spare you this time. I do love when a musical guest gets in on the skit action, so kudos to Bieber for that. But is anyone else thinking his childish winks and flirts are going to look pretty damn creepy when he’s still doing it in ten years?

Musical Guest: Justin Bieber — The first time I ever heard about this kid was when he was mentioned in the We Are the World skit from a month or so ago. I’m guessing the bulk of his fan base didn’t catch tonight’s show because it was past their bedtime. And those backup dancers … I’d add something snarky about how they looked like old men here, but I’m too tired to think.

Weekend Update — The Aunt Linda portion went on just a tad too long; one movie review would have been enough. It was good, though, to have Tina Fey back behind the desk for a little while.

Al Roker’s Ruff, Rugged and Roker — This could have been a lot funnier if it wasn’t supposed to be a new TV show for Roker, and was instead just what Al Roker does during the time he’s not on TV on the Today Show.

School Dance Night — Man, I actually felt bad for the girl in this sketch more than it was funny. The poor thing loved hanging with her mom and didn’t care what the hell others thought of it. What’s funny about that?

The Nine-Inch-Tall Hooker — Uh, what the heck? I wonder if this was the sketch Tina was talking about with the leg shaving and us not even seeing it…? Other than that, what’s there to say about this sketch? Another classic last-of-the-night stinker.

Dogleg is a golf term. It’s a hole where there’s no straight tee-fairway-hole line but usually an L-shape. IMHO the most interesting holes in golf because the golfer can decide whether to play directly towards the flag or play straight as long as he can go until the bend and then again straight to the green. Usually you have trees in the bend so it’s even harder.

SPN was the best sketch this week – a lot of well thought-out lines. You could see that a couple of writers must’ve sat on those jokes for weeks unable to use them until Tina came to host.

As for the wallpapers: I find it quite interesting that Tina Fey on the one hand shows as much boob as she can without risking a nip-slip and at the same time does the Women’s rights thing on “Weekend Update”. I mean she’s hot because I bet she does a lot of workout and starves herself to stay like this and loves to show it off (I bet that’s also where the monologue originated) but is it really necessary to shove that much decoletée in my face? I almost wanted the show to be in 3D

To be honest I laughed the hardest on this episode when they announced the next SNL host. Apparently Ryan is from the Philippines ^^;

I was honestly a little creeped out by Tina Fey crushing on a 12 year old. Beiber is 12 right?
