Hell’s Kitchen – Lobster! Urgently!

In part two of my review of 'Hell's Kitchen,' it's all about lobster. And learning to "get a f@$king grip!"

- Season 7, Episode 10 - "Season 7, Episode 10"

I have the song “Rock Lobster” playing continuously in my head, after this episode of Hell’s Kitchen. And that is not really the tune you want stuck in there. Rather jarring to my already addled brain. I blame Gordon Ramsay!

In the challenge, two huge 10 pound lobsters are given to each team. They are not long for this world though, as the contestants divvy up their body parts and create their own dish. Here comes Holli, as I predicted in my last review. Her dish wins it for the Red Team. Even Autumn is admitting that Holli has potential. Uh oh. I hope I don’t smell a nasty kitchen “accident” in Holli’s future. *cue scary music*

Ed and Jay have a little rivalry going. Or so Ed thinks. I’m rather confused by him, because he was an early favorite. Now he seems to be slowly losing it … whether it be the pressure, or his lack of cooking skills, is anyone’s guess. Maybe it’s a Combo Platter.

And Benjamin. He makes me crazy! I just can’t abide people this in love with themselves. And he’s not that good. The way he talks, he should never be making a mistake. And he makes them. The Red team seems to just accept him as their “leader,” and as I’ve said before, this is a big mistake! In this competition, yes, teamwork is important. But! They are losing sight of the fact that Gordon needs to see them step up individually. And it’s getting pretty late in the game  for them not to be catching on.

Two quick things. Autumn has been like a ping pong ball, what with Gordon giving her more and more chances to get better by switching her to different teams. Lost track? She’s now on Red again.

And I’m getting a little jealous of Holli. She’s turning into Gordon’s favorite. He said she had pretty eyes last night. Grrr. I mean, Holli isn’t ugly. But the way these guys are all drooling over her, you’d think she was hotter than a heat wave in the Midwest. And believe me, that’s hot right now.

Finally, let’s get to Nilka. I had high hopes for her in the beginning. She doesn’t have much experience, but she’s funny, and was getting better. Well! She just lost it at dinner service. She was under-cooking scallops over and over, dropping fish on the floor, and had major “lobster issues.” She was holding up the entire kitchen, and causing Gordon to repeatedly scream “Lobster! Urgently!” Gordon took her aside and told her to get a “f@$king grip,” but she just couldn’t. It was one of the squirmiest moments of the season for me.

Nilka ends up in tears, twirling around in a circle. And my Gordon just loses it, people. He screams for her jacket, and kicks her out of Hell’s Kitchen permanently. Here’s where it got interesting. Nilka wouldn’t leave! Three times. Three times Gordon yells at her to “Get your jacket off and get the f@#k out!” The other contestants have to talk her outta there. Yes! Really! It was a very, um … ungraceful exit.

But later,  as Nilka is packed up and leaving, Gordon meets her outside. They hug it out, and Gordon gives her thanks and encouraging words. He’s so classy. Have I told you lately that I love him?

With Nilka’s exit, you can guess that no one else goes home. But for the record, Ed and Autumn go up for elimination yet again. Unless someone else royally screws up, you can count on these two being the next to leave Hell’s Kitchen. Hopefully without being dragged out.

On to the final six!

(rofl) now I have visions of her under a table with arms & legs wrapped around the table leg and the HK police dragging her out by the hair! Gotta Love Gordon TV!
