I’ve loved 30 Rock since the pilot, but I have to admit: it hasn’t exactly been setting my world on fire for the past season or so. It certainly hasn’t been “bad,” by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s been showing its age. The jokes haven’t popped for me as much as they used to, and the newer shows have been shining a little brighter. While Parks and Rec was my favorite of the Thursday comedy shows this week, 30 Rock actually overtook Community for me for the first time in a long while — if ever.
This turnaround was due in no small part to Tracy and Liz’s Billy Joel fight:
