I was looking for The League to do something different with the Au Pair storyline than most sitcoms, and they kind of did by not having it be a huge storyline. The girl actually looked like a normal girl starting college … very pretty, but not super sexy. Plus, Ruxin made it absolutely clear that he had no intention of cheating on his wife, which I appreciated. But then … Pete slept with the Au Pair. Honestly, how old was this girl supposed to be exactly? She said she had friends on 16 and Pregnant … at best, she’s maybe 19? Pretty damn creepy, Pete.
I think everyone worries that they’ll freak out on their inspirations like Kevin did with Matthew Berry. Very few people actually freak out to the level of awkward Kevin got with Matthew Berry. Speaking of Berry, he might be the nicest person we’ve met in the League universe. I actually want to watch his show now because he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I can see why Kevin was smitten with him, and I hope he comes back to guest star again.

Katie, I concur that you need to watch Matthew Berry’s ESPN stuff. He’s great and has a way of explaining fantasy stuff that makes us not feel stupid.
Actually, depending on how much you are into sports, ESPN’s weekday programming block is great – I spend my afternoons watching it. Around The Horn is my favorite, though I also like SportsNation and Pardon The Interruption…and I have a terribly guilty pleasure in the new Dan Le Batard Is Highly Questionable. For cryin’ out loud, the man’s cohost is his dad. And his dad is awesome. Plus they call his mom to settle fights.
Ahem. Sports geek rant over. I swear.

Back when I was in school, my boyfriend would watch Pardon the Interruption and Around the Horn in the afternoon, but I’ve never watched Berry’s show.
