Leaving your baby for your first night away seems like no big deal to people who haven’t experienced it before. It may seem like a silly thing to get so worked up about.
But to new parents, the milestone moment can feel scary, dangerous and break your heart. And none of those sentiments are helpful when you’re trying to switch gears and get busy in the bedroom.
The moment that encapsulated the tension between the desire to have a romantic interlude with your partner and the lure of your sweet, adorable baby involved the unexpected appearance of Amy’s pink sock during what was to be Reagan and Chris’ night away together. As Reagan was swinging her black negligee in a circle in her trademark awkward attempt at seduction, one of Amy’s socks that had been nestled in the garment’s folds flew up into the air and landed on Chris as he was propped up on his elbows lying on his back on the bed.
Seeing that little fuzzy pink sock halted their precarious steps toward putting an end to their six-week sexual dry spell. Up All Night has it totally right here. While the show may take things to absurd lengths to drive home the point of how insane it may seem to freak out over leaving your baby for 12 hours so you can go to a nearby hotel with your spouse, there are always truths which resonate beneath the surficial silliness.
Nothing embodied this more than the scene near the end of the episode where Chris and Reagan were lying in bed together, the remains of the hotel’s “romance package” were strewn all around the room. It looked as though it had been one helluva night:
“That was amazing!” Reagan said in a breathy, deeply appreciative tone.
“Oh my God,” Chris murmured.
“I’ve never felt this good in my entire life!”
“It was mind-blowing,” Chris agreed. “It’s been so long.”
Now get ready for the punchline … “I know! Eight hours of nonstop, uninterrupted sleep!”
“… And the sex was good too baby,” Chris added, almost as an afterthought.
Perfect. Exactly right.
Here are a few other great lines from the episode:
“Have I got a surprise for you!” Reagan said to Chris, in a flirtatious tone. “I’m gonna give you a hint: It involves doin’ it and our babysitter Patricia.”

“Where does Amy usually like to hide?” Ava sent this text to Reagan and Chris as soon as they arrived to the hotel and had just given their car to the valet, sending them into a panic.

After Reagan and Chris accidentally made noise outside while skulking around in the dark and spying on Ava’s babysitting, Ava rushed toward a window:
“Hey! I’ve got a Glock in my purse and superb night vision!” Ava shouted.
“That is a babysitter!” Chris said, thoroughly impressed while he ducked down behind a bush.
Possibly the best episode so far, I loved Chris almost carjacking someone
