I wasn’t so sure about how I’d feel after Jill’s departure last month, but I have to admit that the fourth season of Royal Pains is shaping up to be a nice one. After last week’s busy episode, things slowed down a bit in this installment with three concurrent storylines that really made use of the show’s new starting lineup. In fact, if I recall correctly, none of the three main leads interacted at all. That was interesting.
Divya spent the episode looking after her dear old dad … and by dear old I mean evil. Seriously. That man needs to get over himself. However, it looks as if he’s doing just that … or at least trying. After realizing that Divya loves him by agreeing to look after him while he properly heals, I think we saw something of a smile … after she walked out of the room of course. Some fans have mentioned that Divya’s parent woes are getting a bit stale, but I really like seeing her struggles with her father.
I also like seeing Evan with Paige. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Paige makes Evan tolerable. Is it just me or did she have a lot more screen time last night? I guess the writers really are capitalizing on the fact that she’s the new female lead, huh? Evan’s storyline also served as the medical case of the week since he and Jeremiah, whom I’m really starting to like, had to tend to Paige’s ex-boyfriend, a man with blood that is, um, green.
That’s a little far out there, right? Sometimes I wonder if the medical cases of Royal Pains are factual. Can these things happen in real life? Heck, I don’t know. I didn’t go to doctor school.
But Hank did.
How interesting was it to see him and Boris get out of the Hamptons? There’s a lot of shady stuff going on with Boris but I like the new sense of intrigue that it gives the show. It’s kind of like a throwback to the earlier seasons in a sense. It’s obvious that Boris trusts Hank with his business dealings, but I have a feeling that Boris is going to cross the line soon … and then Hank’s ethics will come into play. For now, I guess Hank can enjoy making out with Boris’ beautiful translator …
That was some kiss he gave her, huh? I guess he forgot about Jill. Shame.
Alright, folks — that does it for this week’s episode. Are there any changes that you would like to see to the show? Is there anything that needs to be spruced up? What do you think about Paige being Evan’s new assistant? Does Jeremiah have bad bedside manner? And is Hank in over his head?
I keep waiting and waiting that someday all of a sudden I will start liking Evan. And it just doesn’t happen. And now there is Paige, even though she is not as bad as Evan, not that it’s saying much because there have been tv villains I liked so, so, so, soooooooooooooooooooo much more than Evan.
At the beginning he was at least bringing some comedic aspect, now he is purely annoying. So somebody please do something about Evan, either get rid of him or perform an emergency annoy-ectomy on him.
Bring Tucker back, Mrs. whats-her-name with the dog who gave Hank the car, more of Boris and Divya; send Evan to Africa and get Jill back. She was a hospital administrator, so she can be a medical and managerial admin for Hank med, and hire a professional tax advisor! Just, somebody, please do something about Evan!
Like it or not more and more fans want Jill back! She has been gone only a few episodes and already the show is sinking fast. This newest love interest will be gone soon. I saw on Twitter the actress said she misses the show. So yeah she won’t last much longer. The writers better fix this. Or the show will not last any longer!
All these love interest will get old fast. And they are making Hank look like a manwhore. No way would he have gotten over Jill this fast. And the writers are idiots if they think fans will accept anyone else for him.
While waiting for this weeks CiC, I came across your Royal Pains and Dallas posts. Always enjoy your POV, even on shows I don’t watch.
