TV SHOWS COLUMNS FEATURES CHATS QUESTIONS

As we bid adieu to West Wing week, we want your opinion

the west wing series finale

Sadly, we come to the end of our week highlighting The West Wing. And while we could write hundreds of additional articles on CJ’s wardrobe, and the many biblical references spouted by Jed Bartlet, we need to move on to other matters of television importance.

However, as we leave you with one last look at the series, and probably one of the most important turning points, we want to know what you thought of this little experiment. Did it keep your interest? Or did you really not give two poops about it? If you did enjoy it, then the next logical question is: would you want us to do it again?

Not another West Wing week … though we could do that again. Rather, a week highlighting another favorite series. And, if that’s the case, how frequently would you want to see it? Monthly? Quarterly? Annually? Do you have a show in mind? Let us know in the poll below and in your comments.

I like the concept of having a “week” with posts about a show, but I honestly don’t think there are more than a handful of series worth this kind of attention. How many are really in “West Wing”‘s league? Maybe once every few months would be plenty for this, and pick your shows very, very carefully.

It worked for West Wing, also because of the title, however there are very few shows I think deserve a week.

If you are planning Blossom Week then no, don’t do anymore. :-p

Probably not Blossom. Other than talking about her hat collection, we probably couldn’t stretch it out. What about something like The Brady Bunch. Plenty of lovers and haters, plus a whole bunch of history. If you folks have suggestions we’re interested.

Well if Brady Bunch is in the works, then may I request Gilligan’s Island too? I have some serious questions I’d like to pose to you, that I’ve been pondering for a few decades. Physics and “Health” questions to be exact.

What we would be looking to do is pick a show with enough history and popularity (or disgust) to have readers sit up and pay attention. It may not be in the league of West Wing (what is?), but another show that people have strong feelings about.

Well obviously the real Star Trek come to mind, plus if you do in a month the new movie comes out. If Law and Order ever ends that would make a good week.

I liked the concept as well but maybe once a quarter. This might be a great hiatus project.

Shows that might be good to cover: Chicago Hope (went from good to bad), Sport’s Night, Quantum Leap, Hill Street Blues, St Elsewhere…..

Oh! I really like the Quantum Leap idea.

I like the concept as well. Maybe once every couple of months. While there are many worthwhile dramas to cover, I think that great sitcoms tend to stick out in people’s heads more (we even tend to remember The West Wing’s funnier moments).

Seinfield is an obvious choice (and done to death), but I would love to see a Cheers week, or even a Murphy Brown week. As others have said, I’d skip Blossom, however.

Screw the other shows, let’s just have West Wings wings forever.

My preferences would be “not every week” and “better suited for the summer.”
