Chuck – A baby Bartowski?

'Chuck' is quickly coming to an end. Secrets are being revealed and lives are being changed.

- Season 5, Episode 9 - "Chuck Versus the Kept Man"

Chuck has only two episodes remaining after this week’s “Chuck Versus the Kept Man.” Unfortunately each week, the story is moving towards closure. Where will our favorite spies and their families end up?

Last season, I thought that Casey and Alex’s mother would rekindle their romance, but I’m glad the story didn’t go that way. Casey and Verbanski are perfect for each other. They both are in the same dangerous business and understand the risk involved. They also have an undeniable pull towards each other. Verbanski can push Casey’s buttons unlike anyone else we have seen. And, while he doesn’t seem to necessarily like it, he goes along with it to a point.

How awesome was it when Sarah called out all the times she had to dress in skimpy outfits? I was disappointed we didn’t get to see Casey in his banana hammock. Not because I necessarily wanted to see Adam Baldwin in a tiny swimsuit, as much as, it would have been something for the ladies to see after seasons of Yvonne Strahovski’s bikini shots.

If Sarah is pregnant, she definitely isn’t very far along as shown by her bikini. Yes, she took a test, but for being two smart people, Sarah and Chuck fumbled that test so much that I have no confidence in it. They would be amazing parents, unlike their own. If Sarah isn’t pregnant, I’d love to see them at least decide to have kids at the end of the series. I’ve loved watching them move towards normalcy in their lives. In the beginning, Sarah was a lonely spy and Chuck was a college drop out in a dead end job. Together, they have found a passion for their work, each other and more importantly created a large family. A baby would be the ultimate gift to close out this journey.

An unexpected turn of events occurred regarding Jeff and Lester. They figured out the secret! I didn’t see that coming at all, though it made perfect sense. The comings and goings of Chuck and the team were sure to catch the eye of the awoken Jeff. Morgan lucked out by coming up with Awesome as the scapegoat and it almost worked. He made a great “James Bond” and pulled off his rouse. In the end, I’m glad that Jeff picked up the weight and broke through the wall, especially because I have no clue what is going to happen next. How will they explain Castle to Jeff and Lester?

There are many questions that I hope we get answered in the two hours that remain. Since this episode was very relationship oriented, perhaps the rest will be more focused on answering the outstanding spy-related questions. There hasn’t been much mention of the intersect lately, but that story can’t be over, right? What was the real plan behind it? Is Chuck’s father really dead? Where has Mama Bartowski been?

It has been a fun ride for five seasons and we are now closing in on the end. I can’t wait to see what happens next, but I also don’t want the final scene to come. How do you want it to end? Baby Bartowski? Closure about Chuck’s parents? Jeff to get the intersect …  I joke!

You may joke but I’ve been saying to my work colleagues for several seasons now that I always thought it a shame that they never made Jeff a sleeper agent of the Intersect 0.2 beta… who knows, maybe one last final twist!
