MusiClack – The Walking Dead theme

Right about now, you're probably in the early stages of withdrawal because there hasn't been a new episode of 'The Walking Dead' since mid-April. To make matters worse, you have until October when season 3 begins to ride it out. What to do 'til then? I'm here with a bit of relief ...

Yeah … I’m going through withdrawals a little bit.

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, I’d be willing to bet dollars to donuts you’re going through them, too. So … what do you do?

The season finale aired over a month ago so I have nothing to review and, yeah, I miss my show. What have I been doing since then? Well, I was fortunate enough to get in a chat with showrunner Glen Mazzara which helped feed my need. Some time later, I hustled on down to my local library and picked up The Walking Dead Compendium One and gave it another spin. Satisfying … but it only lasted a couple days. (I ripped through it voraciously.) I talked with a several like-minded people about the show. I scoured the internet for news and reviews and more. I regularly visited the AMC site for any news. But all the while I knew my longing for the show would creep slowly toward me like a far-off hunger and would build as a craving little by little.

I even went so far as to rent undead material as a stop-gap to help appease my desires.

I started off with Zombieland. That was a mistake. What piece of fluff. I wasn’t scared by it in the least (I didn’t expect to be), I didn’t laugh at it (I wasn’t certain if I would or not), I wasn’t intrigued by it in the least (thus my previous “fluff” mention). Definitely the wrong vehicle to start off with in order to slake my undead thirst. I haven’t been back to a zombie flick since.

And then I came to a realization: There’s really nothing that’s going to satisfy me other than season 3.

But I was wrong.

Bopping around early this morning, I came across the first video below, a nifty little piece that’s been around the block a time or two but which I just discovered: A guy who has a few chops and decided to video himself cranking out the theme to The Walking Dead. Neat-o … !!! And then … another. And another.

Turns out there are quite a few things out there on YouTube, musically speaking, which can hold my hunger at bay for a while.

So, friend and fellow Walking Dead fan that I am, I thought I’d “share the love.” For your dining and dancing (and listening) pleasure, please enjoy:

The guys in the following video may be taking themselves a little too seriously. They look a bit like The Walking Dead themselves …

And as an added bonus (if you bring you’re dog, I’ll give him a bonus, too) I tossed in the following, a little ditty I posted way back when. Some of you may not have seen it before:

So what am I going to be doing in a month or so when the craving strikes me again? I’ll probably be putting together the give-away TWD poster container I nabbed from last year’s Comic-Con.

I’ll put it together slowly, carefully … in order to relish its construction. I figure it will hold me until June, when I’ll need to pull out Shaun Of The Dead

I love the theme song, especially the way they start it over the end of the pre-title scene.
